Preaching Centres
Each Sister preaches the Gospel in her own unique way. Some use words, others use images, others still use pottery, or printing, or presence. We also have four centres of corporate preaching ministry, each with a different feel and focus.
Niland Conference Centre
The Niland Conference Centre, founded in 1999, is run by Sisters to promote and support Christian Spirituality, Education and Faith Formation and outreach to the wider Community.
St Michael's, Harpenden
Since St Michael’s Convent in Harpenden, Herts. opened in 1978, our convent has always been a place of hospitality and welcome to all who wish for a quiet time of reflection and prayer.
St Rose's, Cricklewood
St Rose’s Chapel and Prayer Garden opened in 2014 to provide a quiet place for reflection, prayer and silence to those of all faiths and none, who are seeking peace, and tranquillity away from the noise and busyness of daily life.
St Mary's, Blaauwbosch
The Prayer Garden at St Mary’s, Blaauwbosch, near Newcastle, KZN was inaugurated in Autumn 2018 to provide an ‘Eden-type’ sanctuary in this semi-rural community.
Dominican Sisters Preaching
Our Ministry of Preaching
The zeal for preaching and the salvation of souls, which lies at the heart of our Dominican charism, is expressed through a variety of different ministries and apostolates.
Education
We are a Congregation of Educators and Preachers, committed to the Dominican charism of saving souls and preaching the Good News.
Reaching out to Others
Justice and Service are at the heart of the Good News. Jesus calls us to recognise Him in each of our Brothers and Sisters. We strive to do this in many different ways.
