St. Martin -in-the-Fields

Wednesday 28th December. On this date each year, at the church on St. Martin- in -the Fields, Trafalgar Square, a service of remembrance is held for the victims of war. This year it was entitled “A cry from the heart for the children of Africa and the Middle East” Organised this year by the Anglican Pacifist Fellowship on behalf of the Christian Peace Organisations, the service was comprised of Songs, Scripture readings, the words of witnesses of occupation and  a Christmas carol and of course the Lords prayer.

Sister Dolores and I attended this service which we both found thought provoking and very moving. We hope that this year 2012, more of our Sisters will attend this service.

It is the custom that following this service early in the afternoon that those who are able to go to Westminster Abbey for a short service of remembrance and witness at the memorial stone to the innocent victims of war outside the West Door of the Abbey.
