Enjoying storytime with children

I make a pastoral visit to the Annunciation Infant School on a weekly basis. I am available to members of staff and attend assemblies on a regular basis. I am requested by the schools to arrange for the pupils to entertain residents in Hanshaw Drive and Appletree Court Care Homes at Christmas time and St Patrick’s Day.

I join the school for important celebrations during Advent, Lent and for the feast of the Annunciation.

I assist the parish priest weekly with a Holy Communion Service in Appletree
Court care home in Burnt Oak and occasionally I take the priest’s place when he is unable to attend due to other commitments. I take Holy Communion to the house bound in their own homes and in nursing care homes.
On occasion I put the Blessed Sacrament away in the tabernacle after Exposition when the priest is not available.

I print the certificates for the R.C.I.A. groups and for other Sacramental

Visiting with the Elderly

I make  weekly visits to the sick and elderly in their own homes or in sheltered accommodation.I also visit the sick in two local hospitals when requested. I order ‘large print’ books for the prayer groups for elderly parishioners whose sight is failing . I  lead a  group of people in a weekly prayer service, discussion and reflections.

Following a bereavement in a family who had connections with one of our schools, I spend time with them and attend funerals when possible. I am invited to various parish celebrations, i.e. Confirmations and First Holy Communions.

I help in the Niland Conference Centre once a week.
